Sencha Green Tea "Sousou" and Hojicha "Ukon" Now Available

We are thrilled to introduce two exciting additions to our lineup – Sencha Green Tea "Sousou" and Hojicha "Ukon."

Sousou - Sencha Green Tea

Crafted to naturally complement your daily life, Sousou features a mild flavor profile with less bitterness and a refreshing taste. Its versatility makes it a perfect choice for any moment, whether paired with meals or enjoyed during a relaxing tea break.

We’ve paid special attention to the production process, using the rare "無揉捻 Mujunen" technique, which is uncommon in traditional Sencha. This unique method allows you to fully savor the authentic taste of the tea leaves through multiple brews, maintaining their delightful flavor in the second and third cups.

Breaking away from tradition, Sousou embodies the innovative spirit of Kyohayashiya. Enjoy the pure, refreshing taste of green tea like never before.

Ukon – Hojicha (Roasted Tea)

Hojicha "Ukon" earned the Fine Product Award in the Hojicha category at the Japan Tea Award 2022. Known for its elegant aroma and sweet, clean taste, this roasted tea offers a sophisticated yet approachable flavor.

Although Hojicha is now widely loved, it was first created in 1902 by our third-generation owner, Shinbei Hayashi. At that time, tea stems were typically discarded, but by roasting them, he discovered a rich, aromatic flavor that quickly gained popularity. His method was later shared with tea cooperatives, helping Hojicha spread throughout the Hokuriku region and become a cherished staple.

Experience the refined flavors and rich history of Kyohayashiya's Hojicha "Ukon."

Both teas represent the pinnacle of Japanese craftsmanship. Once you experience their exceptional flavor, you might find it hard to be satisfied with any other tea. We invite you to try them today.
