Beginning August 29, 2025, the U.S. government will suspend the duty-free de minimis policy. This means all shipments sent directly from Japan may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, and a fixed fee of $80 per package. To protect our customers from these unexpected costs and delays, we have made the following change.
New Shipping Method (Effective August 25, 2025, 11:00 AM JST / August 24, 2025, 10:00 PM EST)
All orders placed on this site will now be shipped from our U.S. Amazon warehouse.
This ensures:
- Faster delivery within the continental U.S. (3–5 business days)
- Transparent pricing with no surprise import fees
- Reliable service using Amazon’s logistics network
Product Availability
Tea utensils such as tea whisks (chasen), tea scoops (chashaku), and tea bowls (chawan) will be temporarily unavailable, as they are not currently stocked in our U.S. warehouse. All teas and other products remain available and will continue to ship reliably from the U.S.
Policy Details
The suspension of the de minimis rule takes effect on August 29, 2025 at 12:01 AM EST. From that date, all shipments entering the U.S. from overseas will be subject to duties and taxes regardless of value.

Q: Why are tea utensils no longer available?
A: Because they are not stocked in our U.S. warehouse, selling them would result in high import fees and possible delays. To avoid this, we have paused their availability for now.
Q: Are matcha and other teas still available?
A: Yes. All teas and other products are stocked in our U.S. warehouse and will continue to be available with fast, reliable delivery.
Q: Will I have to pay any extra customs fees?
A: No. Since all orders are shipped domestically within the U.S., there will be no additional import fees or hidden charges.
