Introducing Sousou Green Tea

A new style of everyday green tea. That is Sousou Green Tea. With fewer people drinking green tea regularly, we wondered how to make it a natural part of daily life. Sousou Green Tea was born from our desire to create a tea that fits seamlessly into modern living.

Fresh, Green Flavor

Its mild bitterness and astringency give it a clean, refreshing taste. In a positive way, it does not taste like a typical green tea. Because of that, it can be enjoyed in any situation, whether at mealtime or tea time.

A Special No-Rolling Method

Unlike most sencha, which almost never skips the rolling stage, Sousou Green Tea is produced by a method that intentionally does not include rolling or finishing. In general tea production, the leaves are rolled by machines called kneading machines and finishing machines. However, for Sousou Green Tea, we skip these steps by doing no kneading and leaving out the weights normally used for finishing.

In the past, tea was crafted by hand rolling. As overseas exports increased, it shifted to machine-based methods that were lighter, easier to transport, and more suitable for large-scale production. By returning to a style closer to traditional hand-rolling, we bring out the essence of the tea’s flavor and aroma.

The Careful Art of Cultivation

Sousou Green Tea overturns the conventional idea of sencha. Currently, eight tea farmers are collaborating with us, starting from the cultivation stage to help produce the finest Sousou Green Tea possible. Each farmer applies a unique technique to process the raw leaves from their own tea garden, creating a single-origin tea that is truly a work of craftsmanship.


Every year, a tea master carefully selects the highest quality leaves for Sousou Green Tea. These leaves have subtle differences in taste from one harvest to another. Its clear, golden color is proof of the careful attention that goes into each leaf, and each infusion offers a new flavor to discover.
