Discover the Light, Fragrant World of Cold Brew Sencha

If you enjoy the vibrant umami and aroma that matcha delivers, cold brew sencha opens a new doorway in your green tea journey. Sencha steeps whole leaves rather than powdered tea, so the liquor appears clear and golden. The flavour feels lighter yet still carries a mellow sweetness that matcha fans know well. A chilled infusion highlights this brightness, bringing a drink that is refreshing, aromatic, and quietly energising.

Why Cold Brew?

Cold water draws sweetness and umami while holding bitterness back. Steeping at a low temperature also protects L-theanine, a compound that promotes calm focus.

  • Lower caffeine that suits evenings
  • Bright flavour that pairs with food
  • Clear pale-green colour that pleases the eye

A single jar in the fridge brings calm and flavour ready whenever you need it.

How to Make Cold Brew Sencha

Here’s a simple method to make cold brew sencha using Sou Sou Ryokucha, a tea specially suited for cold brewing.

What You’ll Need

  • 8g of Sou Sou Ryokucha (about 1 heaping tablespoon)
  • Cold brew tea pot or glass teapot with a strainer (holds approx. 380ml)
  • Cold water: 380ml

3 Easy Steps

  1. Add the tea leaves to your strainer
Place 8g of tea leaves into the strainer of your cold brew pot.
A slightly generous amount helps bring out the tea’s full umami.
  2. Pour in cold water and refrigerate
Fill with 380ml of water and place in the fridge.
Let it steep for 8 to 12 hours.
Tip: Prepare it before bed and enjoy it the next day.
  3. Gently stir before serving
Before pouring, gently stir once or twice to evenly distribute the flavor.

Note: This is fresh, preservative-free tea. Please consume within a day after brewing.

Why Sou Sou Ryokucha Is Perfect for Cold Brew

Sou sou Ryokucha is crafted with minimal rolling, preserving the natural shape and strength of the leaves.
When cold brewed, it releases a generous amount of umami and green aroma, with little to no bitterness—making it beautifully smooth and easy to enjoy.

A New Summer Staple

Cold brew sencha offers a new kind of pleasure for matcha lovers.
Its lightness, clarity, and aromatic richness tap into the same love for green tea, in a completely fresh way.

This summer, discover something new—
A golden green cup full of umami, fragrance, and quiet joy.
